Our group plays a significant role in guiding Australia's preparations to ensure that our ageing population remains an economic and social asset. Our focus areas include:
- Retirement Incomes
- Age-friendly Affordable Housing
- Mature Age Employment
- Seniors and Technology
- The "Wise Young" Initiative
We actively promote legislation reform to establish an independent Age Pension Authority with the power to determine what the pension rate will be and how annual increases will be calculated.
As an objective study of the appropriate pension rate has not been carried out since 1908, we have now instigated one in partnership with the Benevolent Society (read our Pension Adequacy Report).
It is our goal to promote the delivery of age-friendly, mixed-use social housing projects with integrated services and transport in inner city areas.
We are nationwide advocates of the recommendations of the landmark study of late life employment discrimination by the Age Discrimination Commissioner Susan Ryan.
We actively explore a number of solutions to address the challenges older people face in keeping up with rapidly changing technology in our society.
Wise Young is a new non-profit company established by the Longevity Innovation Hub to facilitate innovation partnerships between young and old with the objective of enhancing business and employment opportunities, and the intergenerational exchange of ideas.
